Facebook: It’s well publicized all over the internet that during the first quarter of 2017, Facebook had 1.94 billion monthly active users. In the third quarter of 2012, the number of active Facebook users was 1 billion, making it the first social network ever to do so. Active users are those which have logged in to Facebook during the last 30 days.

In these blog groups you add your blog links to different social threads,  then members of the group come along and LIKE, Share or comment on each post in a thread. You can also post a blog or blogging related questions and get answers a posted question. This is a great way to meet and engage with liked-mind people who are very helpful to both new and veteran bloggers. Joined a few blog groups back in March of this year and it has been very helpful to me.

My Facebook Fan page has gone from 34 Likes on the page before joining these groups to 417 likes and 415 followers currently and growing daily. So I would highly recommend joining Facebook and a few groups to grow your blog audience and presence online. Plus make certain you create a Fan Page on Facebook for your blog.

Google+: Google’s vision of their approach to a social network. It resembles Facebook in a few ways. An account on this site requires you have a Gmail or YouTube account. The way it works is once you set up an account you join communities that relate to your topic of interest.

Google+ is an excellent place to promote your blog because it features large images and short snippets of text that your followers can quickly skim through while on their own profiles.

It’s simple  for others to share, like and comment on posts about your blog, and since you can reach the public too, you might find that random strangers are led to your Google+ posts through a Google search

Since joining a few blogging groups on Facebook I have seen a growth in my Google plus followers. My followers have increased by 26 people from 50 to 76 currently. I need to be more active about sharing this link in Facebook groups but a little growth is better than no growth at all.

Instagram: This is a social media platform that I’m still trying to figure how to get my blog post up there. It’s a learning process for me but I’m sure to get it figured out soon.

Based what I have been told and what I have discovered through self-discovery Instagram is another fantastic place to show-off your blog website. Lots of celebrities and businesses have Instagram accounts, so promoting your website here won’t seem as distracting as it might on unrelated sites such as dating platforms.

Like most social networking sites, Instagram provides a single page where users go to find content their friends are posting. Tags let people search for your public posts, which is a great way for new people to reach your blog.

Twitter: A super fantastic place to promote your blog. The reason why is because you can take advantage of their broad, global reach that both Twitter and Facebook offers.

In a blog posted titled “how-many-users-does-twitter-have”  Daniel Sparks writes that Twitter has 328 million monthly active users as of the last count, making Twitter the ninth largest social network in the world.  That is a great reach for your blog assuming that every user on Twitter would read your blog or blog post.

And remember that you can tweet blog posts as often as you prefer. On the day you publish your blog post’s it is recommended in many blog post that I have read to tweet the post 3 or 4 times the first day.But realize it’s important to understand your target audience and their hot buttons.

Started my twitter account in November of 2015. It is a great social media outlet for promoting a blog or blog post. My Twitter account has increased my following since electing to engage in the Blogging groups on Facebook. In March of 2017, 500 people were following my Twiter account. Now 852 people currently follow my activity on twitter.

LinkedIn: This social media platform is simply the Facebook for the working class in our society. A super network to connect with people and locate all kinds of opportunities.

Microsoft owned with over 500 million users, Linkedin is the most popular social networking site for business people.

It’s a great place to network with business people and even promote your blog. Since creating a LinkedIn account I have increased my following on this site, made new friendships while discovering some great opportunities a long the way.

Pinterest: Pinterest saw incredible growth in 2013 – for the first time ever, Pinterest surpassed email as a sharing medium, and even outpaced Facebook. According to the study, that’s all thanks to the ladies, especially in the Midwest,  because 80% of Pinterest users are women.  I’m not quite sure why.

This is definitely a social media network bloggers should be using to drive traffic to their blog and promote blog posts.  My friends who blog tell me that they get a lot of visitors to their blog by using Pinterest.

Pinterest is fairly new for me so I have not mastered how to use the site just yet. But that is about to change soon. However, I have noticed an increase of followers and more pins on my boards on my account.

There so many places to share your blog or blog post that it might be impossible to cover these sites in one blog post. But I have shared six amazing social networks here that I use daily to promote my blog. I’m happy to report that I’m starting to see more traffic to my blog. Your turn now. Happy blogging and good luck.
